LIBRARY OF THE TEMPLE OF POSEIDON
The legend of Atlantis is as perennial as the seasons. Countless books have been written from
bizarre mysticism, to pseudo-science, to hoaxes, to scientific and historical reappraisal. It may simply offer
a deep seated need in the human psyche. BUT some facts from ancient texts and modern discovery offer tantalising hints
that there may have been such a place- and if so it posessed great knowledge. This "library" has been termed The
Temple of Poseidon.

The Roman historian Diodorus Siculus, writing in the first century ce, has something
to say on the subject of a prehistoric cultural lineage for the ancient Egyptians. These and other texts suggest that
the ancient Egyptians considered themselves to have been descended from a earlier race from another (but destroyed) civilisation
in the far west. It is also clear that the Priests and scholars of ancient Egypt regarded themselves as the sacred
guardians of a very of old tradition of learning pre-dating the Old Kingdom by several hundred if not thousands of years.
As such then they were the lineal descendants of refugees of an earlier and advanced civilisation.
Possibly drawing from a local tradition he says:
"The Egyptians were strangers, who, in remote times, settled
on the banks of the Nile, bringing with them a civilisation of their mother country, the art of drawing and the polished language.
They had come from the direction of the setting sun and were the most ancient of men ."
It is not the first time that mankind has regressed back
a bit after a catastrophe. Indeed scientiusts have recently confirmed that a major cataclysm hit the Earth many
thousands of years ago which decimated the DNA structure of mankind and his blood group. It is thought that as much as 70%
of the first "homno sapiens" were erased. In this light the comments of the Priests of the Temple of Sais to the Greek statesman
Solon (thr grandfather of Plato) can be seen in a new light:
"all that has been written down of old is preserved
in our temples..... when the stream from heaven descends like pestilence and leaves only those of you who are destitute of
letters and education, you have to begin all over again as children and know nothing about what happened in ancient times,
either among us or among yourselves"

NOTE: (i) There is irrefutable anthropological evidence that prehistoric Eurpopeans reached N. America and built
sacred monuments/stone circles and chambers. (ii) Cro Magnon remainss dated to c.50,000 years ago have been found in
California; (iii) When the Spaniards went the Canary Islands for the first time they found a people (the
'Guanches') who were astonished to find that "other humans" had survived the sinking of the land- they spoke a language similar
to Basque. (iv) The ancient Egyptians spoke of a people in the far West of Africa whom they called "the Tehenu" and were blue
eyed and blond haired.
